Additional reads: We are all starting to play with ES6 in our applications and it works well, just plug babel and webpack or browserify and you are good to go.
We wanted to be able to author and publish ES6 modules usable by anyone, no matter the setup as soon as they were supporting ES5.
Should you rely on webpack loaders and browserify transforms for your module to work? Nope you can’t, you would limit your module to only a subset of its potential users.
In a near future I hope we will be able to reduce all this boilerplate code so that we can focus on the module code and not the release process.
Nice things takes time to do!
